DEEN, just fucking kill me already. I can’t take this trolling anymore.
ARRRRGHHH IT’S USELESS!!!! IT’S ALL USELESS!!!
Umineko Anime: “Banquet of the Golden Witch” casting rumors
Posted in Anime, Umineko on August 30th, 2009 by sage – Be the first to commentBy way of Moogy, who found this 4chan thread a few hours ago:

Well, Junko Minagawa as Virgilia would be a perfect choice, but then…

My (obvious) reaction:

Bernkastel is probably behind this.
Also, Moogy’s comment on the issue:
<Moogy> ronove isn’t koyasu
<Moogy> obviously fake
<Moogy> right? ;_;
We can only hope, my friend. We can only hope.
UPDATE: Once again, DEEN proves to be the better troll. They cast Tomokazu Sugita as Ronove. I mean… what? A Kyonove? I don’t even know how to feel about that. At least Kikuko Inoue as Virgilia is an even more perfect choice than the previously rumored Junko Minagawa the perfect choice, and casting little Miyoko from Higurashi as Lambdadelta just feels… correct. DEEN’s bait-and-troll tactics are scary.
ps. Cue Itsukittler x Kyonove jokes/shops.
ps2. On a second thought, Sugita is the closest one can get to Koyasu without picking Koyasu himself (I almost got them mixed up on NEEDLESS), so… well, there’s not too many episodes left to learn how this is going to work out.
Umineko Anime Ep. 7 Preview
Posted in Anime, Umineko on August 6th, 2009 by sage – Be the first to commentHaha, what’s up with this show’s previews? Last week’s was kinda lame, but this one made me chuckle. Anyways, expect to see what an awesome mother Rosa is next week.
ps. Don’t really feel like talking about this week’s episode just yet. The show has its big flaws, but it’s still watchable (and floating Beato was sort of amusing).
Umineko Anime Ep. 6 Preview
Posted in Anime, Umineko on July 30th, 2009 by sage – Be the first to comment- They tweaked Beato so that she doesn’t look that Asian anymore.
- TOMITAKE FLASH
- TSURUPETTAN
- We are getting a fuckload of non-tsundora Kugyuu during the next episodes. I’m not complaining.
- DEEN is going to snatch the Touhou anime rights away from SHAFT. Hilarity ensues.
This is the right way, DEEN. Keep this up. I can only cross my fingers, hoping that you redeem yourselves.
(ps. I have nothing against Asians, it’s just that… Beatrice should be the least Asian of all. I mean, they are all japanese, while she is a western-style blond witch)
Umineko Anime Ep. 5 – The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
Posted in Anime, Umineko on July 30th, 2009 by sage – Be the first to commentThe Good:
- Beato, at fucking last. Sayaka Ohara’s performance is orgasmic
- Budget went up compared to the previous episodes. This is easily noticeable by looking at the character art, among other stuff (no, not the badly drawn clock at 00:00 AM)
- Quite a few BGMs from the visual novel (dead angle, オルガン小曲_第6億番_ハ短調, rougoku, suspicion… just to mention a few)
- George is finally passable enough. Still keeps some of his bishounen looks, but at least he is not as repulsive as in the previous episodes
- Shannon. I love when Kugyuu plays these kind of roles, so much different from her stereotyped tsundora characters
- Close-ups to Shannon’s, Jessica’s and Beato’s “assets”. I don’t mind this kind of fanservice, especially if the exposition gets boring. At least there’s always something good to look at instead of corpses.
The Bad:
- The excessive use of Maria’s “emo facial distortions”
- I don’t remember that the tea party was ever played in the mansion parlor. Although this is one of the few grievances that I’m willing to ignore
The Ugly:
- Beato’s eyes make her look too Asian and her neck makes her look like a giraffe There’s nothing wrong with Beato, she is perfect. I love her so much ♥♥♥! (I’m totally not biased)
- Stupid Sexy Bernkastel. I fap to hate her so much. She can stab herself in the head with a knife for all I care
Anyways, this episode was a step in the right direction. Maybe it’s just a fleeting illusion, because we actually reached the meat of the story, but still… the episode was well executed. I don’t deny that DEEN still has 21 whole episodes to keep fucking shit up, but if they keep this level of quality I’ll probably enjoy all those episodes as much as this one. It’s not like I had high expectations for this adaptation in the first place.
Umineko Anime Ep. 4 – The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
Posted in Anime, Umineko on July 22nd, 2009 by sage – 1 CommentThe Ugly:

- Bah, let’s just get the EFD out of the way: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
- Battler wants to be cast in the upcoming Kuso Miso Technique anime (produced by DEEN)
- Nice sponsor ad (and part 2)
The Good:
- The whole Kanon boiler room scene was really well done. Cackle + Stakes!
- I must admit that I laughed when Kanonlouch said “Zero!”. Here’s hoping for for some epic Kanonlouch vs. Georgezaku in the visual novel.
- We are done with this awful episode adaptation next week
The Bad:
- I can say with certainty that they will fuck up the remaining episodes as well
- I’m masochist enough to keep watching this to the end
Evaneko Anime Ep. 3 – The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
Posted in Anime, Umineko on July 15th, 2009 by sage – Be the first to commentYes, it still sucks.
The Good:
- shirabe \o/
- George actually looks normal now (sort of) (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
- Lots of Eva. I love Miki Ito’s voice.
The Bad (and Ugly):
- lolbalcony
- goldenslaughterer got slaughtered again
- Goddammit, DEEN, enough with the Maria EFD. Seriously
- Looking kinda cool there, Battler
- Ugh
- UGH
The Lulz:
The Meme:
Also, is it just me, or does Maria have some BIG lips? (She is going to be quite the bombshell when she grows up)
UMG 4: DEAREST -not in sight without love-
Posted in Umineko, Visual Novels on May 6th, 2009 by sage – Be the first to commentThis is something that caught me by surprise, since waiting until Comiket for them was kind of an unspoken rule, but this time it was released on COMIC1☆3. About the video itself, it’s incredibly good, as well as the song (although I found it to be a bit repetitive at the end), but I still like the previous video (Toriko) more. Maybe it’s because of Ange, a character I don’t particularly fanboy over (in contrast to Beato, who I love). read more »
